Mavis Tires and Brakes in Acworth (Mars Hill Rd), GA

Unspeakably horrific service. Screwed up my brake rotors replacement I had to have them done again a year later + overtightened and damaged my lug nuts in the process, one to the point it wasn't usable. Now what did they do? Quietly replaced it with a rusty old one that was a different type and wrench size. Please don't take your car anywhere near this place unless you hate yourself.

This location used to be fine, but the store manager must have left and was replaced by a new one. The competency has gone downhill since. My last visit was very telling. I took my vehicle in for a standard oil change, and I had a lightbulb out that I didnt want to go through the trouble of replacing so I asked them if they could do it. They said they would have to talk with their manager and he would call me because it wasnt a typical job for them to perform. I said OK and took my vehicle home after paying for the oil change. Time passed, no advisement from a manager came, so I took it back and a mechanic working at the shop said that I could order an assembly on my own because the lightbulb blew and burned the plastic threading. It was going to be rather expensive so I decided to have my vehicle serviced at another location and they replaced the lightbulb just fine. That made me question their professional due diligence, and I have decided to not do business with this location anymore. Also, my wife took her vehicle in for an oil change and came home and there was a large oil leak so she took it back and they claimed it was a faulty oil filter, which was yet another incident in a short time frame. Since this business is a franchise, I would check out other locations.

Had me in and out for an oil change and rotation in 20 minutes! The very nice girl up front Megan also let me know my brakes and brake fluid need to be changed. Which she gave me a great price on! I will be coming here indefinitely from now on!

On 2/22/2025, I took my car in to fix a brake fluid leak, that repair (a fitting that was over tightened, thus stripping the threads) and a supposed tie rod end finding cost me about $900. They charged 4X the price for the parts they acquired from Advance Auto.My tie rod ends were installed incorrectly, creating a knocking sound when I turn my wheel too far right or left. They wanted to charge me $1300 for an issue that they created. Stay away from there.

Stopped by today and made my appointment for news tires and an oil change tomorrow morning. No problem.

Call in got quoted for $350 to get my tires replasted, I went in got the service and had to you pay 200 more then what I was quoted, do better mavis in acworth.
