Mavis Discount Tire in Syosset, NY

Doing a great job!

Normally when I bring my car here I have no problems , I trust them and theyre super reliable and fast . I dropped my car off for an oil change at 6:45am and left my keys in lockbox. granted they dont open until 8am so 8:20am i called them to let them know my keys are there . I then called back at 1pm to find out the ETA on the car Willy said its up there now and its going to take ten mins I said okay as long as its done by 3pm . Never did he communicated that it was busy . Now its 3pm and my car still wasnt done . Never did he informed me that it would take longer then he expected or anything . No regard for my time . If he wouldve just communicated that hey were busy , just sit tight Ill take care of it . I wouldve been satisfy but his customer service sucks

Willy and the team were beyond helpful with my Tesla! They were able to identify the problem in minutes with the Tire sensor and we were on our way in no time! Will continue to use this location for any of my tires issues! 10/10!

Have been a repeat customer for this location for a long time. However after my last trip there this week I will no longer return to any Mavis location. I brought my 2023 Nissan Rouge in for NYS inspection, the car passed the safety emissions portion of the inspection without issue. However they called me and said the car failed for tires and I would need 4 new tires. The car is two years old and has 23k miles on it, so while yes it would be natural for the tires to have some wear the likelihood of that wear being so bad that the vehicle needed 4 brand new tires unlikely. When I asked how much for tires they quoted me $1100 dollars, I told them to not proceed and I would pick up the car. As I was driving home I realized they took my valid NYS inspection sticker off the car. I took the car that afternoon to my personal mechanic who has been in business longer than the manager has been alive. My mechanic said yes the tire have some wear and tear I would recommend new tires in the future but they are well in the realm of passing inspection tread depth of 2/32 that NYS requires. My mechanic said I should return to the location the next day speak with them about re running the car and tell them they shouldnt have taken off my sticker. I did return the next morning I told them they should have not taken off my sticker I was told that is the law. (Its not because I contacted NYS and they told me the sticker should have not been removed) I asked for a failed sticker or temporary they told me they dont have to give me one because it failed for tires. They stood behind their stance of its the inspectors judgement. Then they told me my mechanic is likely someone who just passed cars and probably gets fined. So as I said earlier I had contacted NYS I told them I believe my car was failed intentionally so they can try to make a sale, I asked if I could get the car reran without repair they said yes and I did.Guess what it passed with out repair so Monday morning the complaint paperwork along with Mavis fail paperwork and my pass paperwork will be going upto to the state. Its convenient that a tire shop failed a car for tires and then tried to make $1100 on a sale. I also filled out the Mavis customer service survey and reported this. Unfortunately for Mavis they lost me as a customer as a whole, I will never return to any location as my brand loyalty and trust is gone.
