I wanted to purchase four new tires and wheel alignment service. The worker stated he could not complete the wheel alignment because of worn suspension parts. I understand. However, I specifically asked which parts needed replacement because I could fix it myself and return the following week to purchase all four tires and have them installed, including wheel alignment. He responded arrogantly that everything needed to be replaced, the entire front suspension. When I asked for a bit of clarity, he reiterated every single component needed to be replaced. He continued by saying, if you're going to fix it, you should know the parts that need to be replaced. He started enumerating random front-end parts (axles, control arms, struts, tie rods, etc.) stating they all needed to be replaced without explaining exactly why. When I asked him if the bearings needed replacement he responded, "what bearings?" unaware the front end has wheel bearings or more specifically strut bearings. I asked him if the strut bearing needed to be replaced, he asked, "what's a strut bearing". The audacity for this worker to suggest the entire front end needed to be replaced but doesn't know what a strut bearing is the epitome of fraudster/scammer. I took the vehicle to a different shop that completed the wheel alignment. The mechanic confirmed it was unnecessary to replace any suspension part. The steering is now tighter and more responsive. Tomorrow, I will take it to a different shop to install all four tires.
