Mavis Discount Tire in Webster (Empire Blvd), NY

I'm in town getting my elderly mom's car situated. These guys fit me in and did me a big favor by not making me wait at all.Great service!!!

I try to give places a chance. I booked an appointment for an inspection. To be fair, this was not my first choice, but no one else was able to fit me in. I drive to the Empire Rd location and I checked in. The one guy that greeted me was pretty nice. I actually had a need for my other car to be inspected as well, so I asked if it would be possible to fit that car in as well. This was my first red flag. I have been here before on a Saturday, and I should have remembered this. I was told they were short staffed and they are only open until 4. The website states you are open until 6 pm. This was the exact conversation I had the last time I gave this place a chance. I figured it wasn't too big of a deal because sometimes websites aren't updated. I mean why shouldn't it take 2 years and running to get the hours updated on the website. Being in IT I understand how hard it is to update store hours on a website. It could literally take a good 30 seconds. I figured it was fine because I just needed the inspection on this car. Two guys, never gave their names, came out after looking at my car and told me my tires were showing cords. I specifically checked this prior to coming to this place because EVERYTIME I have been to this place they told me my tires needed to be replaced. I actually have a tire warranty (thanks to my wife for reminding me) and we've been pretty good about staying on top of the tires. The guys talking to me, after I said I had a warranty, tried to argue with me about my warranty saying "even if you DO have a warranty (I do) it probably only covers $20." Actually is covers $150 dollars per tire, but they are the pros, so I didn't want to argue with them. I was also informed that the brakes on my car were "frozen" and that was an automatic fail. This is the car that I have driven for the past year and longer and never once had brake issues. They kept trying to sell me tires and brakes. I would like to remind you that I was already told they were understaffed and that they were closing at 4 pm, which, since I booked my appointment at 2 pm, was fast approaching. Side note on that: The website would have allowed me to book an inspection appointment at 5 pm, even though they close at 4 pm. Weird. In any case, I am not sure what kind of scam is being pulled here, but it's ridiculous. Oh, and before I forget. I did end up taking the car in to my original choice and they just happened to "miss" all these issues that I had when I was at Mavis. I suggest that if inspections aren't worth your time, pull them from your list of services. At this point, I am more disappointed in myself for not remembering the last time I came here and had to fight to get only two tires instead of 4 for a car we were getting ready to trade in. We only got the tires because we got a flat. The dude at that time came out and literally yelled at me and told me he didn't think he could even let me leave unless I got all 4 tires replaced.

My son is in college and was told he would need brakes soon during his inspection One call to Mavis and they were willing to accommodate his schedule and help us out. Great service, easy to work with, would highly recommend.

I was happy with the service I received here back in August but today, they knocked it out of the park!! They have earned my loyalty. This is where I will be going for all my future car needs. Thank you!EDIT - **Second Review** I sent my 18 y/o daughter here to get the windshield wiper reservoir on her car fixed. They gave her 2 options the $300 option (to fix it correctly) or the free option (to get it working, but the front and back would no longer work separately they would always go together). Being 18, she took the free option. It would have been very easy to take an advantage of an 18 year old but they took care of her. Seriously love these guys!!! THANK YOU!!!!
