Mavis Discount Tire in Freehold, NJ

I'm not into bashing anyone and you can see by my total reviews I hardly ever even review anyone, but this was mandatory. I stopped in this am, cause I had a slow leaking flat that had a nail on the tred of my driver side rear tire. I spoke to the front desk representative of mavis, and his name is Paul furthermore he told me my tire can't be patched up, and rather then saying it's an easy fix and I can plug it or go somewhere else, he tried to sell me a brand new tire. I get people make mistakes, but this is an obvious scam since all I need to do was plug up the tred, on a brand new tire already, and yes this Mavis just does patches, and couldn't be done at the edge, but their is a reason why they only do patches, instead of plugs, cause if too close to the edge they will try to sell you a brand new tire, and all you need to do is plug it, which can cost 20 bucks if that or do it yourself. Their is an obvious deception going on cause the nail was on the tred and no where else, so they could even have patched it up if they wanted too. This is a scam of a place and a dishonest practice, and shame on these crooks, not everyone is an old lady, and catch on your bullshit. Stay away all customers trust me, and there are a ton of tire shops near by, and I'm done with these big companies and will go to a mom and pop shop in the future. Everyone makes mistakes, but these guys see these problems daily and to try to feed me lies to steal my business, and tell me I need to replace my tire, cause they purposely do patching and not plugging cause they know certain parts of your tires that need to be fixed, will make you either get a new tire, and in reality just need to get it plugged and save a ton of money. I did it for free, and it would have cost me 20 dollars to 30 to get it plugged or spend money for a new tire or a few tires cause that's what they want, rather then being decent people and saying all you need is a plug, but their job is to get your business, and their is no excuse for this. I don't know exactly who is to blame here, but I'm referring to Mavis as a whole, and it could be the front desk people that lie, or misinformation from the mechanic, or the executives trying to lure people to buy stuff for an easy fix, but this is a Mavis failure entirely. Then I called to speak to Paul, and he said he acted in good fate, and tried to see what he can do to make things right, which I don't know exactly if he's at fault alone, but I'm referring to Mavis as a whole, where their is an inconsistency somewhere and a fraud going on from someone or all. My rant is to help people looking for honest business, and again my blame is on Mavis at this location as a whole, since I can't pin point who the exact source of these practices come from, whether it's the front desk people, mechanic, and or the executives. This was a 100 percent their fault, cause the nail was on the tred entirely.and mo where else, which mean they could have patched it up, but fed me bs.

I came to fix the wheel at this Mavis Discount and they did this job for almost an hour for one wheel, in addition, they did not balance the wheel, although they took $ 31 for the work, they did not even ask to do the balancing, I would have paid and noticed that when you pick up speed, the car starts to shake very strongly, two days later I drove up to Costco tire center, the guys fixed this problem by balancing the wheel!

Several months ago I got a tire fixed. While waiting for my car to be fixed the mechanic came in and informed me that I needed my back rotors done. I said that I needed to wait to get more money. I went to a local mechanic to get my oil changed and I said to him that I might need my back rotors done. The mechanic called and said the only thing that needed to be done was my oil change and my rotors and brake system is fine. SHAME ON YOU MAVIS TIRES. You just lost a customer thats been coming to your company ever since it opened up.

I had a nail in my tire that led it to almost be completely flat! The mavis team was fast and efficient when I explained to them what the issue was with my car! They made me feel very comfortable and explained everything to me as they were fixing my tire! If it wasnt for their team i definitely would be stuck on the side of the road somwhere! I also want to thank you Nick and Peterson for helping me further with my questions of purchasing tires! If your in a bind with your car come to this MAVIS!!!!

Michael & Peterson are the best!!! I was losing air in my tire but wasnt able to fill it myself. I called an hour before they closed and they told me to come in anywaysthank goodness I did! Shocker, I had a screw right in the middle. They patched it up right on the spot, good as new. Those two are amazing!!

I had a couple issues with my tires. Made an appt, walked in and was immediately assisted. I was then shortly after was made aware of any and all complications. Dave was exceptionally with all the services I received. Definitely recommend this location.
