I have traditionally used Michelin Xice tires but they were not available in the size my Jeep requires. The wonderful folks at the Hackettstown, NJ MAVIS presented several other options for snow/ice tires and after discussing my driving requirements, I decided to give the Pirelli tires a try. They perform great, for a snow tire, typical of the type of tire. I usually drive my snow tires down to the end of tread, which with the Michelins gave me approx. 50,000 miles. I will do the same with these new tires because I want to see what I can get from them. So far, they are great and the road noise is at a minimum. I can feel the road a bit more with these but nothing objectionable. Handling is very good as well. As of this point I believe that I have found a new ice/snow tire for the future. When these wear out I will buy another set of Pirelli all weather tires, as I really like their performace, wear, etc. Once again, the fine folks at the Hackettstown MAVIS did a great job and I committed to being a loyal cust

2 days after putting these on my vehicle I drove through 6 inches of heavy wet snow with no problems. No skidding, spinning of tires or any hassles.

Still has plenty of tread depth. The replaced tire was over 5 years in use and had excessive nail punctures and after 5 separate repairs would not stay inflated. Opposite side tire still in use with no problems. Purchased (2) tires for rear and will replace 2nd next year. 4 seasons here on coastal Northeast. Tires in use on X5 all year round. Have towed 28 foot travel-trailer with good stable ride.

Tires served their purpose, though crusty deeper snow presented a problem, even with hybrid 4WD, FWIW. However, with the wheels off and at a place that also does brakes, they didn't notice I needed new pads in the rear, which could have saved me from having to get new rotors less than a month later. Obviously, I didn't go back to get my breaks done there.

When I shop for a tire, I think I want performance, comfort and quiet. That's all true, but what I really get excited, about once the tires are on the car, is tread-life. And these tires have it. I just bought two more because my wife's Pilot had an irreparable sidewall puncture to one of her rear Scorpions. The front had enough tread left, after 20000 miles, that I'm not worried about matching new to old.

I am currently in Niger, Africa and drive a lot of off road through the desert. But I'm getting ready to ship my car to Moscow and that is really why I bought these tires. I won't know how they perform until I test them there.
