on all 4 tires - have gotten me out of several dangerous snow situations
haven't had them long enough to test on snow and ice
Great tire. Had to replace two due to a pot hole incident. Difficult tire to find, since factory in Japan closed due to Tsunami. Mavis was only place I could find the tire.
Great tire for the money. Very good in light to heavy snow on this rear wheel drive car. I'm sure the traction control helps, but the tires very seldom if ever loose traction or slip under normal winter driving conditions. These tires are dedicated to winter use only but I find they have acceptable handling in dry winter conditions and they are not noisey for a winter tire. They don't have the "sport" handling that the low profile 18" staggered OEM tires have, but you could not expect them to. Very happy with the purchase.
Living in the snow belt of New Hampshire these tires have seen a lot of snow and slippery road conditions on highways and rural roads. They are on a daily driver so they see it all at the worst times of day and they have never failed to get us to were we are going. I have literally plowed snow with the front bumper on the car and they kept on digging there way forward. What more can you ask of a snow tire. Rarely have I been impressed enough with any tire that I have purchased them again and again with multiple vehicles like I have these tires. I have done a lot of review reading on snow tires and these tires are regularly listed as a tire to beat in a comparision and there is a reason for that ,THEY'RE A GREAT SNOW TIRE. The only draw back to these tires is that they are a little louder than some but not untolerable by any means. I'd rather hear a tire taking me home than a quiet tire stuck and spinning in a ditch. I wouldn't suggest running a good set in the summer as they are not designed for that and it s
they're snow tires so some level of noise is expected. no snow tire can prevent skidding on ice if roads are that bad.
Too few miles to rate treadwear ice traction is blank because those conditions have not occurred.
I was very disappointed with Mavis - in the past I've always enjoyed their honesty and low prices. However, this time, they told me that the tires I wanted for the rear wheels were no longer being made (untrue) and I was able to get a pair of WS-70s from another retailer for less. So I actually DID NOT BUY the tires you are asking about from Mavis.
This is the 3rd set I've purchased. The previous sets were for a Mazda 3 and a Nissan Versa. On the Mazda I got a blowout after hitting an average pothole. On the Versa one tire developed a bubble on the sidewall caused extreme vibrations - had to replaced tires. And Altima one tire got a bubble and deformed tread. In all three cases, the thread pattern was worn out in the first year as if the tires were three years old. I bought the tires about the same time so did not know better not to buy the same type. What made the whole thing worse is that Mavis Tires would refuse to do anything about it. Do yourself a favor, DON'T BUY THIS TIRES AND DEFINITELY DON'T BUY FROM MAVIS TIRES. A sincere advice from consumer to consumer. Thanks.
This is my 3rd set of Blizzak Snow Tires for my SAAB, and they are the best that I have ever used. I need to drive in all weather conditions (snow, ice or rain), so good tires are critical to me. I have tried All Season tires, but there is nothing like four great snow tires to get you safely and reliably through a storm. On February 6th 2010, when we had a major 2nd 18" storm in a week, I was able to drive on highways and back roads, when it was just me and the snow plows out there.
