I do not know what hydroplaning rsistance is
I was surprised how good these tires handle, I would definitely buy again and recommended to friends
Night and day difference from the all season tires. My car went from scary in the snow to feeling really safe in the snow.
Really great snow tires. My car is very light and had problems in the past with stopping power in rain and snow. These tires are great in both
A week after these tires were installed, I drove through an early morning lake-effect snow storm with 6 to 12 inches accumulating during the morning commute. The tires passed the test in the Mini Cooper. I found myself changing lanes, taking corners and passing AWD vehicles and trucks with confidence. Since then I have driven through heavy rain and over icy patches on bridges without issue or loss of traction. The tread grip on dry roads and hard cornering is noticeably less that with all-season tires, but this is to be expected given soft rubber compound and wider tread patterns used in these winter tires. I chose a set tires about 10mm wider for a little extra surface contact with the road. The price was right, too, but I've noticed that my gas mileage has dropped from an average of 28 to 29 MPG to around 25 MPG (the ski rack mounted to the roof at the same time also plays a role in the loss of efficiency). The manager at Mavis Tire made me a happy customer despite some issues locating the proper-size tire
These tires seem to be working very well. I have four snow tires on now which really helps when the highways are covered with snow.
